As you are probably well aware, the phenomenon that is the SUV craze is without a doubt in full swing. People are so obsessed with these behemoths in fact, that not even the continuously rising gas prices have put a dent in their sales. Clearly, this is no passing fad.
Obviously, all of this money being thrown around has caught the eyes of almost every single auto manufacturer in the world. As a result of this, a slew of SUVs from various companies have been produced and sold to consumers. Weirdly enough, even companies that have historically never sold SUVs, like that of Aston Martin, Rolls Royce, and Lamborghini, have begun to join in on the fray.
Because the demand for these vehicles is so high, every manufacturer is giving it their all to “one up” their competitors. Thankfully for consumers, this ongoing battle is actually beneficial, as we now have access to more SUVs than ever before. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the brands themselves, as they now have to dig even deeper to simply stand out from the crowd.
So, how does one stand out anyways? Well, you could start by trying to tackle and best the new 2021 Chevrolet Suburban. For the most part, it does everything that you could ever ask for from an SUV.
Let’s take a look at what makes the new Suburban such a powerful contender in the seemingly never ending SUV war.
It’s Quite An Imposing Brute
One of the first things that you’ll probably notice when you first see the new Suburban is that it seems to tower over just about every other thing on the road. As one might expect from an SUV that offers three rows worth of seating (more on that later), it is not afraid to get its elbows out and take up as much space as it wants. Specifically, this “miniature tank” stands at an intimidating 6’3 “, has 8 inches worth of ground clearance, and comes in at a hefty 7,700 lbs.
In addition to the sheer size of the thing, the new Suburban also stands out simply because it seems to look good no matter where it goes. Part of this probably has a little bit to do with the fact that the Cadillac Escalade shares the same chassis (and probably many components) with the Suburban. So, you could probably just start calling it the “Cadillac budget” (even though it can still cost upwards of $ 86,000).
The Chevy Suburban Has Plenty Of Cargo Space At The Back For Everything You Need
As mentioned earlier, the Suburban does offer 3 rows of seating, which ultimately makes it one of the best family haulers of 2021. As a result of this, the Suburban is also one of the best vehicles for those who find themselves calling shotgun a bit too late. Those confined to the 2nd row will be able to enjoy a generous 42 inches worth of legroom, while those at the very back will have to make do with a respectable 36.7 inches.
Furthermore, even when every seat is occupied, you’ll still have 41.5 cubic feet worth of storage to work with. That’s more than enough space for your luggage or even a very large dog. However, if you do find that this is still not enough room for your needs, you can always fold down both rows of seats and give yourself access to a colossal 144.7 ft³ worth of cargo space!
There’s Plenty Of Tech To Go Around
Like that of many other cars on today’s market, the Chevrolet Suburban is simply brimming with all kinds of modern technology. For starters, the SUV comes equipped with nine cameras that are all designed to make you as aware of your surroundings as possible. Additionally, you’ll also find an equally impressive amount of screens scattered throughout the cabin, which does also include some for the passengers in the back as well.
Other cool features include an electronic center console that can move forwards and backward 10 inches (which gives you ample space to store your phone or drink there), access to Amazon Alexa, Wi-Fi, Apple CarPlay / Android Auto, Navigation, and even an extremely detailed heads up display! Furthermore, there are also too many safety features to even begin to mention. Just know that if a safety feature exists, then there’s a good chance that the Suburban has it.
The Best Feature By Far, However, Is That Engine
The final and best feature that we will talk about today is the monstrosity that lives underneath the Suburban’s hood. It is here that you will find the home of one of Chevy’s 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 engines, which produces a staggering 420 HP and 460 lb-ft of torque! Thanks to all of these ponies, the Suburban is able to go 0-60 in under 7 seconds and tow up to 8,100 lbs when equipped with the “Max Trailering” package.
Overall, the 2021 Chevrolet Suburban has everything that you could ever ask for in a modern SUV. Sure, it may make it slightly difficult to find a parking spot, and it may also be quite expensive, but you really can’t say that Chevy doesn’t give you a lot of bang for your buck. Because of this, it’s probably safe to say that the Suburban is more than just an SUV … it’s everything that an SUV should be.
