A US tuning company by the name of Competition Carbon that appears to specialize in Corvettes and Lamborghinis plans to turn the current Chevrolet Corvette Stingray into the mid-engined Cadillac supercar that we never had.

This wild custom creation will be unveiled at SEMA 2022 and consists of an intricate bodykit for the Corvette that completely transforms the way it looks. At least from these renderings that the company shared with us, it appears as though the doors and the roof are the only original parts that have been retained.

The car is dubbed ‘C120R’ in celebration of Cadillac’s 120th anniversary next year and immediately catches the eye with a sharp looking front fascia that includes vertical LED daytime running lights and a carbon fiber splitter. The body also includes angular air intakes and rocks a distinctive hood with large air vents to air in cooling and aerodynamics.

Cast your eyes along the sides of the C120R and you will notice unique front wheel arches sitting above a set of aftermarket wheels. Competition Carbon has also developed extended side skirts for the car and replaced the Corvette’s standard side air intakes with a simpler design.

The tuner will also offer its wild C8-based vehicle with two engine cover options, one of which includes a massive roof scoop to aid in cooling. The bodykit also consists of two gorgeous flying buttresses sitting over the squared-off rear quarter panels. Other key design features include vertical LED taillights, a hydraulic adjustable rear wing, and quad tailpipes. A carbon fiber diffuser is also shown in these renderings.

A V12-powered roadster version is also claimed to be in the works

Competition Carbon is using SLA resin and 3D printing to bring the kit to life. No pricing details have been announced but the tuner has also revealed it is working on slotting a V12 engine into a roadster version of the car for SEMA in 2023.
