Have you ever heard of the 2022 Suzuki Across? Introduced in 2020, it’s a plug-in hybrid SUV that’s more familiar than you might think. Suzuki’s offering is a rebadged Toyota RAV4, so it’s the European-only “RAV4 ​​Lite,” if you will. For the new model year, the PHEV received a host of updates and improvements. Most importantly, the 2022 Suzuki Across plug-in hybrid is gaining more power.

For the first time since its initial release in 2020, the Across is upgraded for 2022. Technology and equipment are improved for the new model year. The most significant upgrade is the standard onboard 6 kW AC charger. A considerable step up from the 3 kW version, Suzuki’s PHEV charges in nearly half the time previous models did. More specifically, charging time is reduced from 5.30 hours to 2.45 hours when using a 32A rapid charger. In addition, home charging at a 16A facility is down 36 minutes to under five hours, according to CarScoops.
